Yim Yuen Wah, Managing Director

Yim Yuen Wah co-founded Mikro in 1997 after recognising that premium-quality electrical distribution products could be built and sold locally, for less than large multinational companies were charging. Since then he has sought out new markets and established Mikro as a regional presence within the electrics industry. He is very much the business leader within the company and takes a hands-on role with overall strategy and planning. Mr Yim's background in the electrics industry stretches back more than 20 years.

Wong Yin Wah, Executive Director

Wong Yin Wah has been at the heart of Mikro's technical development activities since he co-founded the company in 1997. During his tenure he has overseen various R&D projects including the development of static protective relays, phase monitoring relays and electrical meters. He now oversees the manufacturing and assembly division of the company. Mr Wong has over 23 years of experience working in the electronics industry, first starting out in 1987.

Fong See Ni, Executive Director

Co-founder Fong See Ni is constantly raising the levels of sophistication in the company's R&D and technical activities. His specialisation lies in algorithm development and the conversion of analogue signals into digital, and his skills and experience are utilised to improve Mikro's entire product range. He has also added weight and expertise to the company's marketing division by conducting external training workshops and seminars. Mr Fong has a successful background in the electronics industry going back to the mid '80s.

Woon Yeow Thong, Independent Non-Executive Director

Woon Yeow Thong, aged 45, was appointed to the Board of Mikro MSC on 30 December 2010. He graduated from the University of Kent at Canterbury with an Upper Second Class Honours in Law in 1988. He passed the Bar Finals examination in London and was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 1989. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1990. As senior counsel, He has about 20 years of experience in a wide array of commercial and corporate litigation matters. He also has a number of reported cases at the High Court and Court of Appeal. He has conducted many litigation matters involving winding up and corporate reconstruction pursuant to Section 176 of the Companies Act and has also been called to give talks to officers of the Insolvency Department by the Legal Department of the Ministry of Law on bankruptcy and winding up laws. He has also given talks on General Advocacy to junior lawyers including those in Sarawak. He also sits on the Board of Xidelang Holdings Ltd.

Lu Chee Leong, Independent Non-Executive Director

Lu Chee Leong was appointed to the board of Mikro on 22 October 2008. Mr Lu is a member of both The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom; and The Malaysian Institute of Accountants since September 1995 and August 1996 respectively. Mr Lu joined Kassim Chan & Co., Kota Kinablau (now known as Deloitte Kassim Chan) as an auditor in 1990 and obtained his chartered accountancy in September 2005. Mr Lu then joined Kinabalu Ria Sdn Bhd, Kota Kinabalu, in late 2005, as Group Accountant. In 1997, Mr Lu joined the local leading telecommunication company as finance manager. Mr Lu is the chairman of the audit committee and a member of the nomination committee.

Dr Tou Teck Yong, Independent Non-Executive Director

Dr Tou Teck Yong was appointed to the board of Mikro on 22 October 2008. Dr Tou obtained his bachelor's and PhD degree in physics at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. His academic and research career at universities in Malaysia and Australia covers the fields of plasma, lasers, silicon, organic LED, thin films and characterisation techniques. In 1999, he joined Universiti Multimedia as a full professor in the Faculty of Engineering. Dr Tou is a member of the audit and remuneration committees and the chairman of the nomination committee.

Aznam bin Mansor, Independent Non-Executive Chairman

Azman bin Mansor was appointed to the board of Mikro on 22 October 2008. Encik Aznam is an advocate and solicitor by profession having been admitted as a barrister of law at Lincoln's Inn in 1984. He was then admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1986. Encik Aznam served as a legal assistant in Skrine & Co. upon his admission to the Malaysian Bar and became a partner of his present legal practice, Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill from 1993. Encik Aznam was appointed as a director of MHC Plantation Bhd in December 1998 and subsequently became chairman of the company from February 2002 to June 2005. Currently, Encik Aznam is a director of Knusford Bhd. Encik Aznam is a member of the audit and nomination committees and Chairman of the remuneration committee.
